오늘의 단상_The Teachings of Jesus Christ vs. So-Called Religions

esmile1 2024. 9. 14. 08:19

This document aims to explore the distinct teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, contrasting them with various religious practices and beliefs that deviate from His teachings.

By examining specific verses, we will highlight the essence of true faith in God, the dangers of following human traditions, and the uniqueness of Jesus as the sole mediator between God and humanity.

1. The Nature of God and Idolatry

The Bible warns against the worship of false gods and idols. In Acts 17:23, Paul mentions the Athenians' worship of an "unknown god," emphasizing the futility of such practices. Jesus teaches that there is only one true God, the Creator of all things (Isaiah 45:5-6).

Acts 17:23 (KJV): "For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you."

2. The Danger of Human Traditions

Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for adhering to human traditions rather than God's commandments. In Mark 7:8-9, He states that they have "laid aside the commandment of God" to hold onto their traditions.

Mark 7:8-9 (KJV): "For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do."

"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." (Matthew 15:8-9)

"Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." (Mark 7:7)

3. The True Knowledge of God

While many may have zeal for God, it is crucial to have knowledge that aligns with His will. Romans 10:2 speaks of a zeal that is not according to knowledge, leading to misguided worship.

Romans 10:2 (KJV): "For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge."

4. The Path of Cain vs. Abel

The Bible illustrates the contrast between the offerings of Cain and Abel, where Cain's offering was rejected due to disobedience. This serves as a reminder that following one's own way rather than God's leads to destruction (Genesis 4:5).

Genesis 4:5 (KJV): "But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell."

5. The Righteousness of God

Scripture teaches that there is none righteous, no not one (Romans 3:10). Human righteousness is likened to filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6), underscoring the need for divine grace.

Romans 3:10 (KJV): "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."

6. The Mediator Between God and Man

Jesus Christ is presented as the only mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). This underscores the exclusivity of His role in salvation, as there is no other name given for salvation (Acts 4:12).

1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV): "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)

7. The Uniqueness of the Gospel

The Apostle Paul warns against preaching another gospel, emphasizing that there is no other gospel than that which he preached (Galatians 1:6-9). This highlights the importance of adhering to the true message of Christ.

Galatians 1:6-7 (KJV): "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ."

"As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:9)

"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10)

Conclusion

In conclusion, the teachings of Jesus Christ stand in stark contrast to many religious practices that prioritize human traditions and false beliefs. The Bible calls us to recognize the one true God, to seek knowledge aligned with His will, and to accept Jesus Christ as the only mediator for our salvation. As we navigate our faith, let us remain vigilant against the allure of false teachings and adhere to the truth of the Gospel.
